Winter wonderland weekend!

Wow, what a weekend! On Friday night after work I went to the market which ended up being very unsuccessful and smelly - due to being right next to the Hout Bay harbour.

On Saturday morning we ventured out in the Storm for breakfast at a cozy spot near our new flat called Knead. They are a patisserie specialist restaurant. 'Kneadless' to say we thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

On Saturday evening we were given tickets to go watch Switchfoot live at Grand West Casino.
Our close friends gave us golden circle tickets as they were the opening band, 'The Rescu'. An amazing band I might add! We thoroughly enjoyed our evening of singing along and plenty jumping up and down and swaying side to side. We arrived home and were in bed by 12am as we were preparing for an early start.

Our alarm went off at 4am on Sunday morning! We were starting to doubt our great idea of an adventure in this miserable weather but nevertheless we got up and got dressed and packed our 'padkos' (food for the road) and climbed into the car.

With map in hand we made our way to Matroosberg in Ceres to see the snow!!

When we were about half way there, it suddenly dawned on my fiancé that he had left our snow jacket at home on the couch! We had decided not to wear them in the car because we would get too hot.
I was slightly infuriated to say the least but we couldn't turn back then as I wanted to get to the snow before the masses of people arrived.

We arrived to a temperature of 0 degrees celcius which is about as cold as it will ever get in the Western Cape.

The pics will show you exactly how cold it was and how much fun we had...

What did you get up to this weekend?
